MRS. BALSTER PASSED AWAY LAST SUNDAY
Mrs. Robert H. Balster died at the Laughlin hospital, Kirksville, MO, at noon last Sunday, Feb. 20, following a heart attack. She had been in failing health since last fall, and had gone to seek aid at the Mayo clinic, Rochester, Minn., and more recently to Kirksville.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Goettsch funeral home and at 2 o'clock at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church. Rev. Paul T. Gutknecht, Lutheran minister, was in charge. Burial was made at St. John's cemetery. The pallbearers included Henry, Wesley, Rudolph, John and Gerke Hanken and Edward Renken. The first five were cousins of Mrs. Balster.
Anna Eden, daughter of John and Margaretha Eden, was born in Lovell township, March 28,1902. She was baptized by Rev. W. H. L. Schuetz, Lutheran minister, in 1902, and confirmed by the same minister April 30, 1916. She attended the rural schools near her home and graduated with honors from the Monticello high school in 1921.
She was married Feb 7, 1924, to Robert H. Balster. There were born to this union two children, Pvt. Robert E. Balster and Delphia L. Balster.
The family home was made in Monticello on North Gill street.
Mrs Balster was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Henry, Edd, and Wesley Eden. Her son, Robert Balster, is at present in an A.S.T.P. school at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
