Eliphalet was a shoemaker in 1850 and then living in Tinmouth, VT. The Clarendon Deeds contain several transactions in which he took part. In 1848 he lived at Lowell, MA, but later he returned to Tinmouth, VT. He enlisted in 1863, in the 14th Vermont Regiment and was wounded at Gettysburg. In 1866, he went to Rome, MI. He returned to Pittsfield, MA and remained there until 1875, when he went back to Michigan.
