Owen Eckler
Owen Eckler died at Pleasantville, N. Y., Saturday night after an illness of but a few days. He and Mrs. Eckler had gone to Pleasantville because of the illness of their daughter, Miss Leola Eckler, and while there he had a shock and died as above
stated.
Owen Eckler was born May 5, 1868, in the town of Middlefield and was a son of Lorenzo Eckler and Phoebe Pay Eckler, and most of his life had been spent there. He was married to Minnie Howland about forty-three years ago and besides his weife he is survived by two daughters, Miss Leola Eckler of Pleasantville and Mrs. Wesley Hall of Milford and by one grandson, Owen Folts, who had always made his home with his grandparents; by two brothers, Frank Eckler of Westville and William Eckler of Milford, and by three sisters, Mrs. Charles Ferris of Cooperstown, Mrs. Fred Denton and Mrs. Nellis Garlock of Westville. Two sons of Mr. Eckler, Ford and Leon, lost their lives in the World War.
Mr. Eckler had lived in the village of Milford for the past several years, and was much respected by all who knew him.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late home on West Main street. The Rev. N. B. Ripley and the Rev. A. B. Judson will have charge of the services, with burial in the Westville cemetery.
