Dorothy Patricia Eckhart, 68, a longtime Alaskan, died April 19 at Providence Hospital. A funeral was held at Kehl's Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Burial was at the Aurora Cemetery in Wasilla.
Mrs. Eckhart was born Feb. 4, 1921, in California, and had lived in Alaska since 1943. She was a member of the Bahai faith, which she had instructed in a number of countries. She graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with an arts degree. Mrs. Eckart taught school in Unalaska for four years. She had also worked as a real estate agent for Century 21 Park Place in Wasilla.
She leaves her husband, John, of Wasilla; her daughter, Diane Pinkerton, of White City, Ore.; her sons, Robert Aldrich, of Los Angeles, and Gene West, of Fairbanks; and one grandson.
