HERNDON — Karen M. Bordner, 73, of 256 Pumpkin Hollow Lane, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 10, 1938, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Roland and Gertrude (Cawthern) Ebright.
Karen was married on Aug. 3, 1968, in Shamokin, to Thomas Q. Bordner who preceded her in death on March 5, 2002.
Karen was a 1956 graduate of Trevorton High School. She was employed as a seamstress in local garment factories. She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Ray Miller, of Shamokin, and Karen and Randy Taby, of Mount Carmel; two stepsons, Thomas Bordner Jr., of Sunbury, and Jeffrey Bordner and wife, Cheryl, of Herndon; one stepdaughter, Sheila Deiter and husband, Louis, of Dalmatia; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary Ebright, of Watsontown; five stepbrothers, Dean Wetzel, of Sunbury, Drehr Wetzel, of Iron Station, N.C., Drew Wetzel, of Northumberland, Derl Wetzel, of Germany, and Ned Wetzel, of Dornsife; three stepsisters, Drene Jones, of Sunbury, Tamie Campbell, of Gratz, and Jane Bobb, of Dornsife; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Roger, John and Robert Ebright; and one sister, Edna Tobias.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Glen B. Keidel Jr., officiating.
Burial will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
