Helen Ebach
April 28, 1925 December 2, 2012

Helen (Fehr) Ebach was born April 28, 1925 on the farm at in the Hague district. She was the oldest child of Peter J. and Helena (Reddekopp) Fehr. She received her education at the Huffnungsort School. She was baptized on her confession of faith in the Old Colony Church in Neuanlage. Mom was married to Walter Kasper (Deceased) in 1947. To this union were born three children, Wayne Gerald Kasper (1949), Eunice Helen Kasper (1951), and Barry Glenn Kasper (1954). Mom moved to Vernon B.C. in 1959 with Eunice and Barry and took a job at the Round-up Restaurant as the head cook. While working at the Round-up Restaurant she served a meal to Prime Minister John Diefenbaker when he was touring British Columbia. For 5 difficult years mom raised 2 children as a single parent along with earning a living and tending her garden, without complaining once. In September of 1963 she met a farmer by the name of Lorne Ebach from Hepburn SK through a mutual acquaintance in Saskatoon. They met for a second time in December of 1963 in Vernon B.C. In June of 1964 they met for the third time to be married in Kelowna B.C. Mom flourished as a mother and in her new role as a farmer's wife. In August 1965 a son was born to Lorne and Helen, Trent Justin Ebach. Lorne and Helen farmed together on the family farm until Lorne's untimely death in 1995. After Lorne's passing in the fall of 1995 mom moved to Hepburn. She resided in Hepburn until 2009. Because of deteriorating health and trouble with mobility she moved to Pineview Manor in Rosthern SK in 2009. As her health and mobility continued to deteriorate, she moved into Rosthern Mennonite Nursing home in 2011. On December 2 at 2:00 a.m. She was hospitalized at the Rosthern Union Hospital. She passed away peacefully at 8:30 a.m. of that morning. Mom was predeceased by her parents Peter J. and Helena (Reddekopp) Fehr, son Wayne Gerald Kasper, husband Lorne Ebach, son-in-law Wayne Stobbe. She is survived by her daughter Eunice (John) Hein, son Barry (Caroline) Kasper and son Trent (Alison) Ebach and their respective families. She is also survived by all 4 of her siblings and their families. The family would like to thank Dr. Morris Markentin and RN Brenda Neudorf of the Rosthern Union Hospital for their compassion and care during our mother's final hours in the hospital. Viewing will be held on Thursday December 6, 2012 7:00 p.m. at Dalmeny Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Friday December 7, 2012 2:00 p.m. at Hepburn Gospel Church. Interment to follow at Carson Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Rosthern Hospital Foundation, Box 88 Rosthern, SK S0K 3R0. Arrangements in care of DALMENY FUNERAL HOME (254-2022).
