After many years as an executive secretary, she took the courageous step of starting a new, and ultimately successful, career in the insurance business providing insurance to Oregon businesses and individuals. After 35 years, she decided to retire this year on her 91st birthday.

She had an eye for photography, and on her many trips photographed people and especially wildlife. She became a contributor to wildlife and nature conservation organizations.

Among her many joys were gardening, breakfast at The Original Pancake House, and keeping up with the Oregon Ducks and Seattle Mariners. Famous to her kids and grandkids for her tomatoes, strawberry jam, and macaroni and cheese, she valued, most the time she spent with them.
