Mrs. Abbie Eastwood
Mrs. Abbie Eastwood, aged 73, of 2101 South Ironwood drive, died at 4 p.m. Sunday in the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Harley Chastain, of the same address. She had been ill a year.
She was born in Sparta, Wis., Dec. 7, 1895. she was the widow of William Eastwood who died in 1944. She leaves another daughter, Mrs. Jean Walsh of South Bend; a son, William, jr., seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and a brother, Ernest Mudge, of South Bend.
She was a member of Indiana Avenue Christian Church for the last 40 years.
Friends will be received in the Hollis Funeral Home until 7 p.m. today and in the residence until noon Wednesday. Then the body will be taken to the Indiana Avenue Church to lie until the funeral in the church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The casket will not be opened at the church. Rev. R. J. Parker, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Bowman cemetery.
