Wendell was born on the old Earp Farm, N.W. of Stroud, Lincoln Co., OK. He joined the Marine Corp and served during World War II in the Pacific Theatre as well as the European Theatre where he was wounded in action. He was married to Lavon Graham. They lived most of their lives in Russell, Russell Co., Kansas. Wendell was an accountant and a CPA. He was also an avid outdoorsman, loved pheasant and quail hunting and his bird dogs. After the death of his wife he moved back to Lincoln Co., Oklahoma. He was the father of two daughters, Sharon Kay Earp Brown and Rhonda Yvonne Earp Rinehart.
