KENNETH EARP A native of Dixon Springs, Tennessee, died on April 22, 2002 in Gallatin, Tennessee. Kenneth Earp first came to California when he was stationed at the Camp Parks Air Force Base in Pleasanton. He worked for a short period of time as a clothing salesman in the Men's Department of the Grodin's Store in downtown Hayward. He then ventured into the business of land development and construction. He constructed the two Spanish Ranch Mobile Home Parks, the Mesa Verde condominium project, and several apartment buildings in the Hayward area. He was instrumental in the initial phases of the Union Landing Shopping Center in Union City, the Shea Industrial Park in Livermore, the St. Regis Retirement Center in Hayward, and the preservation of the Civil War Army Garrison at Soldier Meadows, Nevada. Ken spent 40 years in the Hayward area as a real estate developer. He is survived by his wife Tina Marie Ridlespurge Earp, formerly of Dudelange, Luxembourg, his son Matthew L. Earp of Hayward, his daughter Kendra K. Earp Collins of La Grange, California, his son Jake W. Earp of Gallatin, Tennessee, his daughter Katherine M. Earp of Gallatin, Tennessee, and his stepchildren Charles E. Duck of Oakley, California, and Dr. Elizabeth J. Haymond of Mesa, Arizona. He was blessed with ten grandchildren. He will be remembered for his skills as a pilot, his interest in motorcycles, his love of the Nevada desert, his love of old equipment (in particular bulldozers), his eye for land, and his love of cattle dogs. Funeral services were held on April 25, 2002 at the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Gallatin, Tennessee.
