Dwight Holdridge Early Jr., of Wheaton, IL., died Monday, March 21, of natural causes. He was 89 years young. He was born in Glen Ellyn, IL., in 1922, the second son of Dwight H. and Margaret L. Early. Mr. Early graduated from St. Charles High School and matriculated at Beloit College in 1941, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He left school to enlist in the United States Army in 1944, where he served training Rangers in Texas and then in the Philippines. Upon honorable discharge as a Second Lieutenant in 1945, he joined the firm of Dwight Early & Sons as a publisher's representative for numerous national publications. After leaving the firm, Mr. Early continued as CEO of his own publisher's representation firm until he retired. Mr. Early married Jean Hovorka, Beloit College '45 (1923 - 1990) and together had three sons, Dwight III, Scott Edwin, and Jeffery Bryan. He remarried in 1991, to Jessie (June) Littlejohn Reichert of Wyndemere, Wheaton, who survives him. He is survived by his three sons, their wives and six grandchildren, as well as June's daughter, son, two sons and their wives, and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Gordon; and sister, Harriet Kittle. Mr. Early resided in Wheaton, from 1953, until his death. He was a member of the Wheaton Police (Reserves), coached Little League baseball, and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He enjoyed hunting pheasant, ducks and geese, with numerous friends, including Henry Pitts (Wheaton) and Daniel Nielsen (Evergreen Park). A memorial service for Mr. Early will be held on Saturday, April 2, at 1:30 p.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 N. West St., in Wheaton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made in Mr. Early's memory to Trinity Episcopal Church.
