Madeline E. Durham, 89, widow of Harlon R. Durham, departed to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus early in the morning on Saturday, April 9, 2005.
She was the daughter of the late Luther E. and Mabel C. Earehart of Augusta County, Virginia.
She was a member of the Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church in Steeles Tavern, Virginia. She loved to read the Bible and memorize scripture. She loved her family, and most important of all, she loved her Lord and Savior with an undying love. She often spoke of being ready to go Home to be with Him forever. Jesus' true light shone through her all the time. She was a living example of a true disciple and follower of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by His blood and His grace, she is still living today, at His eternal and glorious throne, worshiping Him forever and ever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlon R. Durham, on Sept. 13, 1999; her mother Mabel Cox Earehart in 1934, her father Luther Edward Earehart in 1965, and four brothers, Houston Earhart, Hunter Earhart, Carl Earhart, and Graham Earehart.
She is survived by two sisters, Margaret E. Bright and Clelia A. Ramsey; and special nieces and nephews.
She was buried beside her husband, Harlon, in the Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Tuesday, April 12, 2005. She will resurrect from this very spot when the Lord Jesus Christ returns.
