Barton Alfus Eaker, 83, of Limestone, died al 4:30 pm yesterday in Brookville Hospital. He was born March 14. 1892 in Limestone Township, a son of Barton and Parantha Emhoff Eaker.
He was married to the former Shirley Pauline McKiley on April 6, 1923. His wife preceded him in death on December 3,1967.
Mr. Eaker was an employee or the Peoples Natural Gas Co., where he retired as a foreman in 1957.
A veteran of World War I. he was a member of the Clarion VFW Club. Also, he was a member of the Limestone Baptist Church.
Mr. Eaker is survived by two sons. Theodore B. of Clarion and James F. of Limestone; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara A. McVay of Natrona Heights; and a sister, Ida Smathers of Limestone. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Friends may call at the Gerald L Goble Funeral Home in Clarion, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm tomorrow. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday in the funeral home with Rev Olan Race, pastor of the Limestone Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Limestone Cemetery, Limestone.
