Beverly Mary Eagon, 71, of Alma passed away Saturday, March 3, 2001 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 6 at 11 a.m.at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's School.

Bev was born Dec. 1, 1929 in Alma, the daughter of Albert Monroe and Sarah (Carriveau) Eagon.

She was a 1947 graduate of Alma High School. She attended Wayne State University for one year and transferred to Michigan State University where she received bachelor's and master's degrees in chemical engineering.

Bev worked for several companies including Michigan Chemical, Shell Oil Co., Fasson Paper Co., Brownbridge Mills and retired from Kimberly-Clark in 1987. Her employment led her to live in Atlanta, Ga., Cleveland and Tipp City, Ohio. After her retirement she moved back to her hometown of Alma to be near her family.

Bev enjoyed travelling around the world and visiting all 50 states. Her enjoyment of travel led her to become a licensed pilot. Bev was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

She is survived by a sister, Patricia Boyer of Alma; four nephews, Charles (Nancy) Boyer of Arlington, Texas, Michael (Robinn) Boyer of Alma, Jim (Sheila) Boyer of Alma and Patrick (Melissa) Boyer of St. Louis; one niece, Debra (Hugo) Garofalo of Shelby Township: nine great nieces and nephews, Blaine, Erica, C.B., Kelly, Mitchell, Noah and Luke Boyer and Sarah and Marco Garofalo; and one great-great niece, Michalyn Boyer.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Sarah Eagon; her stepfather, Charles Bradley; three sisters, Helen, Marjorie and Gloria Eagon; and two brothers, Bernard and Albert Eagon.
