BESSIE C. AYERS Bessie Caroline Ayers, 60, formerly of Pulaski, died early Monday morning in Portsmouth. Born in Pulaski County May 15, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Fleming Harrison Eads and Bessie Jones Eads. Surviving are two daughters,Mrs. Janie McGuigan of Beaufort, S.C. and Mrs. Joyce Peggings of Pulaski; three sons, Gary G. Ayers, U.S. Army in Germany, Gail G. Ayers of Portsmouth and Sonny Ayers of Virginia and her step-mother, Mrs. F.H. Eads of Pulaski. Also surviving are three brothers, Frederick M. Eads of Cana, Henry Lee Eads of Baltimore, Maryland and William Eads of North Carolina; two half brothers,Forest H. Eads of Portsmouth and Garland Eads of Max Meadows; six half sisters, Mrs. Okie Wright. Mrs. Shirley Coffey, Mrs. Doris Simmerman, Mrs. Barbara Wirt and Judy Eads, all of Pulaski and Mrs. Ruby Richardson of Ashboro, N.C. and several grandchildren. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. from the Bower Funeral Chapel in Pulaski with the Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Midway Church of God of Prophecy.
