Father of H.B. Everts Drops Dead Last Thursday
H.B. Everts received a message Thursday evening of last week saying that his father, R.O. Everts, had died suddenly at his home near Hartford.
Mr. Everts had lived on his farm about half way between Hartford and Humboldt for 12 or 13 years. The day of his death he had been out on the farm assisting with the work and when he came to the house he complained of his breast hurting. The physician at Hartford was phoned to but he was out on a case. Then they tried to get the one at Humboldt but he also was out. Mr. Everts was given some medicine that apparently helped him. Late in the afternoon he became worse and asked for some medicine but when it was brought to him he refused it, sating he was better. In a very brief time he called out and then fell over off his chair. The man who worked for him carried him to the couch but he died almost instantly. The physician from Hartford arrived at the house about this time but could do nothing.
The funeral was held at Hartford at 2 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Everts was 58 years old. He leaves two sons, H.B. of Dell Rapids and George of Hartford.
