A.D. Eggleston, 92 of Yorktown, Indiana, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died November 1, 2007, at 8 a.m. He was a native of Halls, Tennessee. A.D. and his late wife, Mary relocated to Toledo in 1944, where they joined Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. He pastored Morning Star Baptist from 1953-1968. He returned to and was an active member of Mt. Pilgrim Church until his health started to fail him.
A. D. then relocated to Muncie, Indiana and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he remained until he was called home. He retired from general motors after thirty years of service. He often spoke of "How blessed he was and how he had enjoyed his life" such as his traveling and fishing with his late wife, Mary and hunting with his buddies. Most of all he enjoyed being a God fearing minister for the Lord. A.D. will greatly be missed by those who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, brother, Clark Jr. (Edna) Muncie; three sisters, Velma Burress of Yorktown, Indiana, Arey B. Newbern of Chicago, Illinois and Mary Lou Rogers (Jonas) Hall of Tennessee; one faithful and dedicated play daughter, Louis Hall, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday 5-7 p.m., Dale-Riggs Funeral Home Chapel. Wake service Wednesday 11 a.m. followed by funeral service at 12 noon, Mt. Pilgrim Church, Pastor Raymond Bishop Officiant. Interment, Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
