Genevieve Frances (Dynak) Davenport, 97, of Westfield died Saturday in a local nursing home. Born in Wilbraham, daughter of the late Simon and Antonia (Filipiak) Dynak, she attended Springfield schools, and was a former parishioner of St. Aloysius Church in Indian Orchard. She has lived in Westfield since 1987. Genevieve was employed for many years at the former Forbes and Wallace and the former Steiger's Department Store's and retired in 1976. She was the widow of Elwin Davenport who died in 1987. She is survived by a son Carl Wesley Davenport and his wife Judith of Westfield, a sister Angela Chmura of Indian Orchard, and two grandsons, Aaron of West Springfield, and Jeremy of Feeding Hills. She was predeceased by her siblings, Vincent, John, Victor, Joseph, Helen and Mary Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield at 11 AM. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Ave., Indian Orchard. Calling hours will precede the service on Wednesday from 9:30AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Westfield Homeless Cat Project, 1124 East Mountain Rd., Westfield, MA, 01085. firtionadams.com
