Prayer service for Goldie Fern Dye Brown were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) in the chapel at Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wesleyan Nursing Home, P. O. Box 486, Georgetown, Texas, 78626, in care of Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.
Goldie Fern Dye Brown, 98, Georgetown, Texas, formerly of St. Joseph, died on April 23, 2005, in Georgetown.
Mrs. Brown was born on Jan. 1, 1907, in Worth to Jasper Hurley and Mary Lydia Friend Dye. Teh family moved to Cunningham, Kan., where she finished school.
Mrs. Brown and her husband, Leota Andrew Brown, owned and operated the St. Joseph Livestock Auction and had a dairy.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Robert Eugene Whetstone, two daughters, two sisters, and three brothers.
Survivors include three daughters, JoAnn DeShon, Kingsland, Texas, Bonnie Place, Gallatin, and Judi Pilkington, West Helena, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
