Mr. Duyn was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Oregon City and raised in Portland. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and served in the Army in the Korean War. He, his father and his brother Carl owned Powell Valley Meat in Portland and later he owned Custom Slaughter, which became Duyn Brothers Carlton Packing. He moved to Carlton in 1956, and was a member of the church for more than 45 years. In 1957, he married Mary Ellen Bailey; they divorced. He married Mimi Coburn in 1984.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Joseph, Raymond and James; stepson, Kenneth Coburn; daughters, Dorothy Blasing, Carol Murray and Dawn Kinnaman; stepdaughter, Kathy Ames; brothers, Carl, Jerry and Jim; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
