Daughter of Joseph Edward "Joe" McDowell and Lucille Watkins
McDowell.
Born in Anderson County, Texas. Raised in Elkhart, Texas.
Died in Smith County, Texas.
Graduated from Elkhart High School, where she was very popular and was a Majorette her Junior year, and then a Drum Major her Senior Year in the Elkhart Elks Band.
She married Gerald Odell Durnell on Feb. 13, 1954 and they had a daughter Geri Lynn Durnell Wright.
For a time she owned, Cimarron Realty in Elkhart, Texas.
She is buried by her parents and maternal grandparents, Levin Coleman "Gad" Watkins and Leo Docia Parks Watkins.
She is survived by her daughter Geri Lynn and husband Billy Jack Wright and granddaughter, Kimberly Wright.
