Marie "Belle" Brophy
March 12, 1933 - August 31, 2014
Longtime resident of 27 years, Marie Isabelle "Belle" Brophy passed away on August 31, 2014, after a battle with cancer. She passed at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction.
Belle left behind husband, Bill Brophy; brother, Harry Duran (Doris), of Grand Junction; four children: Barbara (Ralph) Teagardin, of Marana, AZ, Bill Jr. (Libby) Brophy, of Brighton, CO, Bobby (Bonnie) Brophy, of Broomfield, CO, and Bruce (Kathy) Brophy, of Broomfield, CO; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Bill and Belle would have been married 60 years on May 29, 2015.
Memorial services will be held on March 14, 2015, at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum, 2970 North Ave., at 2:00 p.m. A luncheon will be held at the Grand Junction Elks Lodge following the service at 249 South 4th Street. This is not a memorial service, but a celebration of Belle's life, not her death. Family and friends of Belle are all welcome to come.
Bill and Belle moved to Grand Junction in 1987 and bought a small farm. Belle loved her farm and all of her animals. She also enjoyed the Colorado and Grand Junction Rockies. She loved fishing and being with her family.
She loved all of her grand and great-grandchildren. She was a very kind and generous person and would do anything for anybody. She will deeply be missed by all.
