Helen Archuleta,68, departed this life on Jan. 22, 2010. She was born and raised in La Jara, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Onesimo and Silvianita Duran; brothers, Gilbert, Joe "Poldo" and Leo Duran. She is survived by her husband, Joe "Eddie" Archuleta; children, Wanda (Donald) Trujillo, Michael (Kathy) Archuleta, Trina (Richard) Trujillo, Bernadette (Lawrence) Mendoza; grandchildren, Brandy, Heather, Anastacia, Brandon, Christopher, Michael, Alyssa, Jayson, Angelo, Bryan, Cisco; four stepgrandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Viola Law; sister-in- law, Lorraine (Chuck) Iness, Erma (Grant) Nichols, Cora Duran; and many godchildren, family and friends. Helen retired from School District No. 60 in 2006, where she worked as a teacher's aide for 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was very proud of how close her family is. She loved watching and cheering on the Broncos, Nuggets and Rockies teams as well as fishing, reading and making crocheted and embroidered blankets for her family and friends. Rosary, 7 p.m. today, Imperial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass, 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, with interment at Imperial Cemetery.
