Pueblo, Colo. resident and former Monte Vista resident Bill William Archuleta, 56, passed away Jan. 29, 2008 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo. Bill was born Feb. 7, 1951 in Monte Vista, the son of Bill J. Archuleta and Rafelita Duran Archuleta.
He was enlisted in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Bill enjoyed listening to music, working on cars, shopping, talking on his cell, taking care of all his children.
Survivors include his five daughters Francella Medina of Denver, Colo, Juana Jean ‘Dabado' (Jose) Villagomez of Monte Vista, Jennifer ‘Raggedy' Archuleta of Denver, Krista ‘Kazoobu' Archuleta of Denver and Melanie ‘Cubby' Archuleta of Denver; two sons Little Sippy ‘Gordo' (Amanda) Archuleta of Monte Vista and, Billy Aaron (Jammilla) Archuleta of Alamosa; by five grandchildren; sisters Katy Macias of Monte Vista, Ida Archuleta of Alamosa, Sofie Archuleta of Monte Vista, Virginia Archuleta, Lindy Archuleta and Juanita Archuleta all of Pueblo; brothers Herman (Alice) Archuleta of Denver, Walter Archuleta of Monte Vista and Leboy Archuleta of Denver, as well as by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, son Little Billy Archuleta, daughter Natasha Archuleta, brothers Sippy Archuleta, Harvey Archuleta, sister Frances Mascarenas, and also by many nieces and nephews.
A vigil service with Recitation of the Rosary was held on Thur, Jan. 31, 2008 at 7 pm at St. Joseph Church in Monte Vista. A funeral service was held on Fri, Feb. 1, 2008 at 10 am at St. Joseph Church. Interment followed at Colorado State Veterans Cemetery at Homelake with full military honors. Friends called on Thursday and Friday from 1-5 at Romero Funeral Home in Monte Vista who is in care of the arrangements.
