Obituary:
Angelita M. Duran Aguilar, 67, Topeka, died Saturday, March 20, 2004 at her home. Mrs. Aguilar was born May 4, 1936 in Topeka, the daughter of Florencio and Mabel Lopez Duran. She lived in Topeka all her life, graduating from Topeka High School in 1955.

On January 19, 1959 Angelita and Pascual B. Aguilar, Jr. were married. Mrs. Aguilar worked as a teacher's aide for USD 501 at Lafayette Elementary School from 1973-1980 and at Chase Middle School from 1981 until she retired in 1998. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Angelita was the granddaughter of Pedro Lopez, founder of Pedro Lopez Mexican Store.

Mrs. Aguilar is survived by her husband, Pascual B. Aguilar, Jr.; her sons, John Aguilar and his wife Tammy and their children John, Ryan and Angelita, Topeka, Gabriel Aguilar, Topeka, and his children, Crystal and Gabriel, Jr., Texas; her daughters, Becky Gerdes and her husband, Tim, Ozawkie, their child, Christina Wazlawik and her husband, Wayne and great-granddaughter, Sierra, Wichita; Mabel Ramirez and her husband, Edward, and their sons, Mark and Edward, Jr., great-grandson, Anthony and two foster grandchildren, Topeka; Mary Wahquahboshkuk and her husband, Gunzy, and their children, James (JT) and Marie, Lawrence; her brothers Augustine and his wife, Rose, Duran, Topeka, Richard Duran, Prairie Village, F. Charles and his wife, Julie, Duran, Topeka; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is loved and will be missed by many.

Mrs. Aguilar will lie in state and her family will greet friends from 4 to 8 Monday, March 22, 2004 at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home where a rosary will be prayed at 5:30. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthews Catholic Church with burial following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
