|Death: ||Jan. 29, 1968|
Born in Maryborough, Co. Leix, Ireland on July 9, 1899, into a family of four boys and six girls, Bro. Albert
came to the United States in 1914. After working at various jobs, he joined the Order in Chicago four years later. He worked at St. Cyril's Priory until 1921 when he was assigned to Mt. Carmel College, Niagara Falls, Ont. On Sept. 5, 1923, Bro. Albert professed his simple vows, and three years later his solemn vows.
To many, both within and without the Order, he was "Bro. Carmelite." At the end of January (Jan. 24th) 1968 he returned from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., to
Joliet after his final treatment for cancer. The Carmelite Sisters of the Aged and Infirm at St. Patrick's Residence took him under their gentle and loving care. When they came
to Joliet a few years before, it was Bro. Albert again who welcomed them and helped in so many ways to foster their establishment in the city. They cared for him with the
kindness and attention for which the Sisters are noted and eased as best they could his departure from this life.
On Monday, Jan. 29, 1968 Bro. Albert died as he had lived: quietly and gently.
