Mr. John Dunn, formerly a local reporter, died in this city yesterday afternoon. He had been ailing for some time and had not been connected with the press for about seven years. His first place here was on the Republican, then an afternoon paper and he was afterwards on the Patriot.

The Late John Dunn
A meeting of Washington newspaper men was held at the Republican office yesterday afternoon to take action in reference to the death of John Dunn, an old reporter. James Croggon, of The Star, was called to the chair and Mr. J.B. McCarthy elected secretary. A committee was appointed and reported suitable resolutions, which were adopted. The funeral took place this morning at 11 o’clock, from Mr. Speare’s Undertaking Establishment on F Street. The remains were buried at Glenwood Cemetery.
