Clara Frances ''Fran'' Bergamo, 69, died Dec. 22, 1999, at Chesapeake General Hospital.
Fran retired from Grosse Pointe Michigan Public Schools as an executive secretary after 20 years. She was a member of Avalon Church of Christ, Chesapeake Newcomers Club and a founding member of Dreamers & Achievers Investment Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Bergamo Dove and her husband, David; two brothers, James K. Dunn and R. Donald Dunn of Michigan; two grandsons, Austin Taylor Dove and Jordan David Dove; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Avalon Church of Christ, 844 Woodstock Road, Virginia Beach, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday by Minister Jimmy Bennett. Interment will be in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to H.E.R. Shelter, P.O. Box 2187, Portsmouth, VA 23702, or to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, VA 23513. Tidewater Funeral Choices is handling arrangements.
