A GOOD WOMAN CROWNED
Sarah Vashti Dunn Beach was born in Ohio sixty three years ago. In 1866 she moved with her family to Iowa and in 1867 to Kansas.
In 1870 she was married to Simeon Beach. To them were born eight children, five of whom with the husband and father are living and three have passed over to the spirit world, Dennis and David, twin babies, died in infancy and Benjamine lived to manhood and died. Charles who lives in Kansas City, George the superintendent of Sabetha School, Wright the farmer, and William the railroad man and Ruth the only dau. are well and favorably known to the readers of this paper.
For about twenty nine years this good woman lived in the Bucks Grove neighborhood where her influence for good was felt far and wide. She was the great working bee of that hive for many years.
During the past nine years brother and sister Beach have lived in Havensville and the influence of this good woman has been great here also.
Sister Beach was converted and joined the church in childhood and her best life energies were given to God's cause her life time.
The Sabbath School, the Prayer and Class meetings, the Cause of Christian missions and all other interests of the church were all made more successful by her loyal support.
Thursday, Dec. 10, after a year's sickness the angel of life wafted her to her coronation. She was faithful and triumphant to the end.
The funeral took place Saturday Dec. 12 and a memorial sermon was delivered at 11 a.m. at Havensville and at 3 p.m. at Bucks Grove to a large congregation. The body was laid to rest in the family cemetery at Bucks Grove.
The world is better because she lived and heaven more glorious because she lives for ever more.
