He was born in 1932 to Lester R. Dunn and Irene J. (York) Dunn in Harrison, Nebraska. Pat attended Sioux County schools. On July 18th, 1951 Pat married the love of his life, Evelyn M. Edgell in Harrison, Nebraska. Pat worked for Con Jordon and Shermin Bros Ranching before settling down and starting his family. He then worked for Elkhorn Valley Milk Inc. and Mountain Empire Dairy Association where he drove a milk truck for 25 years. After retiring he started Stop n’ Go Pizza as a family business, which he successfully ran for 10 years. Many community members will remember Pat as the pizza man.
To their marriage Pat and Evelyn welcomed four children into their family. Pat was a family leader who strived to provided happiness and great memories for each of the members of his growing family. One of his favorite hobbies was owning a small cattle operation for the purpose of teaching his grandchildren how to care for the animals and make memories as a family. His grandchildren will always be grateful for the memories and life lessons they learned while mixing milk and holding bottles for grandpa’s bottle calves.
Pat taught his family to enjoy the simple things in life and he was quite the penny pincher. He knew that the best things in life were not things that money could buy. He took pride in providing for his family and teaching his great-grandchildren the importance of education. He established college funds for each great-grandchild who all meant the world to him. Pat was an avid fan of the Nebraska, Cornhuskers and the Denver, Broncos. Pat looked forward to his daily drives around Mitchell when he could check on his cows and make sure all of his family was safe and sound. He loved his family with all his heart and he will be greatly missed by all.
