Ollye Lee Shaver was born on December 30, 1933 to the late Pinkard and Mary Jane (Gipson) Shaver in Buffalo, Alabama. She confessed Christ and was blessed with a double portion by attending Pine Grove United Methodist Church and Friendship II Baptist Church. She joined Hall Memorial C.M.E. Church in Valley, Alabama with her husband and served faithfully as an Adult Sunday School teacher, choir member, program chairman, Board of Christian Education member, and on the Stewardessess Board.

Affectionately known as "Oll Lee", she labored as a cotton picker, maid, educator, and many other jobs. After teaching all year, she vacationed in Chicago, Illinois as a maid, restaurant cook, and babysitter during the summer months.

Sister Dunn was a member and Past Matron of Shaver's Pride #853 Order of Eastern Star and had the distinct honor to serve as Grand District Deputy of District Ten Mizpah Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Jurisdiction of Alabama. She was a member of Theta Xi Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority, Inc. It was her pleasure to serve as past president of Valley Human Relations Forum, Les Dames Esquire Civic Club, and West Point Association of Educators, Northeast Director of Alabama Association of Women and Youth Clubs, and Secretary of Deputies for the State of Alabama.

She was educated at Five Points and Chambers County Training School. She graduated from Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education. As time progressed, she returned to Auburn University in Montgomery and West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia to obtain a Special Education certification.

Mrs. Dunn retired from being an educator in 1999 with 43 years of service. Her journey began at Lanier High in Lanett, Alabama. She continued her educational pilgrimage to Chambers County Training School, LaFayette, Alabama, Randolph County Training School, Roanoke, Alabama, Harrison High School and West Point High School, West Point, Georgia and then to Greenville High School in Greenville, Georgia. Mrs. Dunn also was Media Specialist for Southern Union in Valley, Alabama.

Her life will forever be cherished by her devoted husband of almost 55 years, Arthur Dunn, Jr.; one daughter, (Rev. Leonard) and Tamalita Dunn Autry of Lanett, Alabama; two sons, Aquenda (Patricia) Dunn of Covington, Georgia and Kevin (Deborah) of LaGrange, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Thomas Shaver (Liza) and Clifton Autry of Lanett, Alabama, Heather Dunn of Valley, Alabama, LaToya Ash-Dunn of Troy, Daniel Quen and Annslee Dunn of Covington, Georgia, Cameron, Olivia, and J'Arthur Dunn of LaGrange, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Ian d'Autry Crim-Davis, Matthew Dunn, and Jordyn Morgan all of Valley, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Rosa Dunn and one brother-in-law, James (Maudie) Taylor of Lanett, Alabama; two special relatives, Elsie Trammell of LaFayette and Edward Turner of Gadsden, Alabama; two very special friends, Rudene McCants Woodyard of LaGrange, Georgia and Sister Oreatha Hardy of Lanett, Alabama; four "special" daughters, Barbara Beaty, Pastor Cecelia Broome and Sister Betty Taylor all of LaFayette, Alabama and Pastor Mildred Watson of Huntsville, Alabama; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
