Ellender Dunlap was the oldest daughter of Jesse Dunlap, Jr. and Mary M. Wharton, born 15 January 1839 in Arkansas. She, along with her parents, and of 6 of her 9 younger siblings, were killed on 11 September 1857 in the Mountain Meadows Massacre. She was 18 years old, and single, when she died.
