INFANT DIES WHILE EN ROUTE TO HOSPITAL
Ted, the eleven-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Dunham, died near Slate Creek Monday morning, about 4:30 a. m., while his parents were making every effort to save his life by rushing him to the hospital at Kemmerer. The cause of death was inflammation the bowels.
The little one was taken sick Saturday afternoon at the home on Cottonwood. His father came to Piney and returned with Dr. Hook, who was with him Saturday and Sunday. Sunday evening the, parents bundled him up and started for Kemmerer, driving all night and changing horses three times. When they arrived at Slate Creek they discovered their efforts were in vain, as the babe had passed away. They immediately returned to Big Piney, without waiting to eat or rest in fact, they could not and the body was placed in the care of Rev. Wenrich, who made arrangements and conducted the funeral Wednesday morning, interment being made in the Big Piney cemetery. A large number of friends of the family attended the services and accompanied the body to the grave.
The heartfelt sympathy of all is freely given the bereaved family.
