DIED- Mrs. H. C. Dunham, at the home of her son, O. H. Dunham, in this city, on Monday, the 29th. ult. Aged 61 years. Mrs. Dunham was brought here last December by her son from North Park, with the hope that the change of climate would relieve her rheumatic trouble, with which she had been bedridden for the past, two years. Her husband, Dr. H. C. Dunham, who has been dead some years, was a war veteran and, at one time, Union Pacific surgeon at Green River. She had made application for a pension as a soldiers widow. A special agent from the pension department was here to look into the case about six weeks ago, and her claim was made special on his recommendation. She has been confined to her bed during her stay here, and her condition remained the same until last Friday when she was taken suddenly worse and died Monday morning at 9 o'clock.
Her son, O. H. Dunham, left Saturday for Colorado to be absent for the rest of the summer. His mother's condition had improved so much on Saturday that she was deemed out of danger. As Mr. Dunham could not be got back in time for the burial, it was not thought best to send for him. Saturday night, a change for the worse set in; Dr. Browder was called but pronounced the case hopeless.
The funeral took place in the Episcopal church Tuesday at 10 a. m., Rev. Dr. Huntington officiating. 'The circumstances surrounding this case are truly (sic) sad, and the bereaved people are the recipients of much sympathy and kindly assistance from every hand.
