Services for Jane Ann Beal, 62, Fort Scott, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Fort Scott. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Cemetery, Beloit.
Mrs. Beal died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at her home.
She was born July 7, 1935, in Beloit, the daughter of Athol Bell and Bernice Johnson Dunham.
She graduated from Beloit High School in 1953 and Kansas University in 1957 with a bachelor's degree in home economics education. She received a master's degree in clothing and textiles from Kansas State University in 1960. She taught from 1957 to 1959 at Ellis High School, and from 1960 to 1963 she taught at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
Mrs. Beal was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women's Assn., Sundowners Family and Community Education and Molly Foster Berry Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, all in Fort Scott. She was a former regent of the Betty Washington Chapter of DAR in Lawrence. She also held many chapter offices and previously served as state chaplain and state recording secretary for DAR.
She married Kenneth Maurice Beal on July 1, 1961, in Beloit. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael John Beal, Lawrence, and K. David Beal, Kansas City, Mo., and a brother, John Athol Dunham, Beloit.
