Mrs. Hester Mae Baker, 75, of Wardell, died Nov. 5, 2009.
She was born March 2, 1934 in the State of Mississippi to the late Charlie H. and Leura Briggs Duncan.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Wardell. She was a homemaker who loved going to auctions, loved gardening and yard work and wrestling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie H. and Leura Briggs Duncan; three brothers, Cecil, Howard and William Duncan; and two sisters, Ellie Duncan and Gracie Kelley.
She leaves her husband, David Baker of Wardell; one step-son, Kevin Baker of Wardell; two step-grandsons, Kevin Lee Baker II and Austin Lee Armer; two nieces, Mary Ann LaLumandiere of Portageville and Diane Hamm of Kennett; and a host of other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers were Jamie Miller, Chris and Ricky Rudd, Michael Mathis, Earl Baker and Charles Weaver.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Bro. William Quillan officiating. Burial was held in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
