Juliette Marie "Judy" Asa, 72, of Charleston, MO, died March 24, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO.
Born June 6, 1934, in Bee Branch, AR, to the late O.W. and Lema Holland Duncan, she lived in Charleston a number of years and owned and operated the Humpty Dumpty Day Care Center for over 36 years until her retirement in June 2006. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, where she had served as the secretary for her Sunday school class and had worked in vacation Bible school. She had also served as a Girl Scout Leader for several years.
On Dec. 28, 1951, she married Carl William Asa, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Todd Asa; three daughters, Carla Vanover, Teri McCann and Jeri Nanney; one brother, Lindon Duncan; one sister, Mary Etta Miles Lancaster; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special friends, the Barney Reeves family.
Visitation was at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Visitation continued until service time at First Baptist Church in Charleston. The Rev. Gerald Collier of Ironton officiated.
Burial followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
Pallbearers were: Buddy Reeves, Dustin McCann, Benjamin Nanney, Chris Vanover, Jeff Miles and Daniel Mudd.
