She was born October 20, 1919 in Owen County, Indiana. She was the daughter of Jiles Adam and Ruth Gladys (Waggoner) Duncan.
She graduated from Indiana State University with a bachelor's degree in education. Hilda was a retired school teacher. She taught at Linton, Marco, L&M, Shakamak, and Bruceville. She was a substitute teacher at many other places. She was the Past Matron of the Eastern Star Chapter # 371, and a long time member of the Home Economics Club, and the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ -- all of Lyons. She judged for 4-H in Greene County and Daviess County of many years. On Oct. 7 of this year she would have been married 59 years to Ronnie.
Surviving relatives include one son Bill and his wife, Ann Harrison, of Holly Pond, Alabama; one daughter Ann Puller of Zephyrhills, Florida; one sister Betty Ann Bolle of Richmond; six grandchildren Shawn Anderson of Roanoke, Virginia, Ronnie Anderson of Luttrell, Tennessee. Ashley Puller of Zephyrhills, Florida. Mike Harrison of Addison, Alabama. Kristy Harrison of Suffolk, Virginia. and Ian Goebel of Harvest, Alabama; three great-grandchildren Rex and Ty Harrison of Addison, Alabama and Scarlet Anderson of Luttrell, Tennessee.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday with Brother Orell Overman officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
