WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Alton Franklin Duke, 78, Winter Haven, formerly of Henderson, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Winter Haven Hospital due to surgery complications.
He was retired from Alcoa and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a founding member of Haven Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Joann Long Duke, who died in 1991; two children, Chad Alton, who died in 2011, and Tammy Jo, who died in 2007; his second wife, Barbara C. Butler, who died in 1996; and his parents, Benny and Clarise Stinson Duke.
Survivors include his wife, Lou Helen Craddock Duke; two stepchildren, Claudia Stocking and Joel T. Arnold; two granddaughters; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandsons; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Haven Pentecostal Church. Burial will be at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.
Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel.
There will also be a memorial service at 2 p.m. June 23 at Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Eagle Lake, Fla.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Haven Pentecostal Church in Henderson or Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Eagle Lake.
Pallbearers will be James Scruggs, Adam Whitmer, Jeff Long, Greg Long, Joel Arnold, Joel Stocking, Jonathan Stocking and Jason Dunn.
Honorary pallbearers will be the First Baptist Son-Risers Sunday School Class.
