Catherine Rose (Duffy) Blakely, 83, of Larimer, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, in Mercy Jeannette Hospital. She was born July 6, 1922, in Jersey City, N.J., a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Clifford) Duffy. She was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, in Irwin, and its Golden Echoes. Catherine was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Bishop Coniare #1853 and past regent of the former Court #1170. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 781 of Irwin, a member of the Larimer VFD Ladies Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #171 of Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Blakely; and a brother, Thomas Duffy. Surviving are a son, John Gerard "Jerry" Blakely and his wife, Judy, of Middletown, Del.; two daughters, Mary Catherine Frye and her husband, Ken, of North Huntingdon, and Patricia Steimer and her husband, Robert, of Somerset; three grandchildren, Jack Gerard Blakely, Melissa Kory Blakely and K.C. Frye; eight great-grandchildren, Garrett, Drew, Kendall, Jessica, Chiara, Trinity, Jerod and Justin; a brother, John Duffy, of Rockaway, N.J.; a sister, Margaret Fanning, of North Arlington, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
