Records are conflicting but it is most likely that Patrick J. Duffy was born in Ballinrobe (Cushlough?), Mayo, Ireland in 1882 (some records show 1878). Parents John Duffy and Bridget Moran. As a young man, Patrick worked in the Motherwell mines in Scotland, then emigrated to the USA. He married Bridget Martin in New York City in 1905 and they lived for a while in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. They conceived 6 children together, but only 4 lived past infancy: Rita, Mary, John, and Edward. Patrick died in New York City in 1952 and is buried with his wife and infant daughter Josephine in Jersey City NJ, a city they once lived in. It is unknown where his infant son William was buried.
