"Alice lived on the farm in the Paynton area and attended high school in Maidstone. She became a school teacher and taught school in the Cosy Nook District, south of Waseca, SK. She married her husband Loryen in Lloydminster, whom she met while she was teaching school at Cosy Nook.
Shortly after their marriage Loryen enlisted in the Army and as he served, Alice had two boys. They the farmed in the Rereshill District where Alice taught school until 1956. She taught school in Lashburn until 1961 and moved to Meadow Lake where she continued to teach. After a brief stint in Meadow Lake she taught school in Maidstone from 1963 until 1977 when she retired.
Alice was a sports enthusiast in her younger years, playing softball and basketball. She liked traveling and visiting family and friends. Her special love was music and her secondary love was entertainment. Nothing was more exciting for her than Christmas concerts with the kids or productions at the Drop-in. She attended the Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. In her later years she and Loryen moved to St. Albert. She continued to play piano in their assisting living center and, on occasion, continued her love of entertaining by entertaining the residents."
