73 years, 8 months and 5 days old

Frank was the eighth child (4 died in infancy) born to George and Catherine Duetsch. He was named in honor of his brother Francis who died at the age of 8 months in 1894.

The Reverend James C. Kessler baptized eleven day old Frank on May 29, 1898 at St. Peter's Church, 5th and Girard Avenues in Philadelphia.

Frank married Anna Brisbin on June 6, 1923 at SS Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Camden, NJ. Frank and Anna celebrated 48 years of marriage until Frank's death.

Frank was a carpenter by trade and worked in the field for several years before finding his main job with the RCA Company (the Nipper Building) in Camden, NJ.
In 1948, Frank was credited with designing and building the first floating floor for the pressroom in RCA.

Prior to his work with RCA, he worked as a builder and contractor, some of his jobs were with the construction crew erecting the Ben Franklin Bridge, one of the forty parishioners who erected the OLPH Shrine on Main Street in Maple Shade in 1936 and one of the crew that installed the first seating in Shibes Stadium (Connie Mac) to name a few.

Unfortunately for Frank, he lost his parents and all of his siblings by 1954. In July of 1953, Frank was the last living male in the family to carry on the Duetsch name. This family surname of Duetsch ended with Frank's death in 1972. One of Frank's grandsons and one great-grandson carries on the Duetsch surname as a middle name.

Francis Aloysius, Daddy, Uncle Frank, Grandpop, Great-Grandpop, Dutch, Snuffy and the "Heathen", are a few of Frank's aliases. Frank always had a story or two to tell, was a practical jokester along with brother-in-law and co-hort Joe Tholey, enjoyed his Copenhagen or Skoal (chewing tobacco), a beer and a shot of Applejack, watching the Jackie Gleason and Johnny Carson shows and teasing his 12 grandchildren. He was also a devote follower of Bishop John Newman and Saint Francis of Assisi. He enjoyed taking day trips to Philadelphia to visit his childhood church (St. Pete's on 5th and Girard) and Philly's historical sites.


In 1968, Frank and Anna renewed their 45th Wedding Anniversary vows in front of family that included their 12 grandchildren at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

Frank was also the proud grandfather of Catherine Hartman-Carter, Francis Hartman, Michelle Hartman, Peter Hartman, Dorothy Hartman,and Philip Hartman; Joseph Cucinotta, Robin Cucinotta and Michael Cucinotta and Patricia Koch-Everett, Charles Koch Jr., Virginia Koch and Charles Koch III along with two great-grandchildren, Richelle and Lee Carter.

His father and grandfather also died at the age of 73.

Mr. Francis J. Duetsch, Retired Carpenter, Died Sunday, Funeral Thurs. - Mr. Francis J. Duetsch, a retired carpenter for RCA, where he was a member of the Senior citizens Club, of 208 S. Pine Ave., Maple Shade, died on Sunday, Jan. 23, at the age of 74 years. Mr. Duetsch is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna C. Duetsch; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Cucinotta of Maple Shade, Mrs. Catherine Hartman of Marlton and Mrs. Margaret Boche of Roebling; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mass of the Resurrection is being celebrated today (Thursday) for Mr. Duetsch at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Maple Shade at 9:30 a.m. Funeral services are under the direction of the Inglesby Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Maple Shade. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

Frank is buried in a family plot along with his wife Anna Brisbin-Duetsch,his mother-in-law Sarah Riley-Brisbin, his daughter Margaret Duetsch-Koch-Boche and his grandson Charles Richard Koch II. In April of 2008 a new headstone was erected for the Duetsch family.

Also buried in same cemetery is his son in-law Joseph Cucinotta & his son in-law Joseph Hartman along with grandson Peter Hartman.
