August Duecker Dies Sunday

Stratford (Special) - August Duecker, 88, of Stratford, died Sunday night, Sept. 26, at the Boone County Hospital where he was admitted Sept. 20.

Mr. Duecker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Duecker, was born April 19, 1893 in Waverly, Iowa. He was married to Ruth Wentworth at Waterloo, Jan. 18, 1917. He was a member of Acorn Lodge, No. 601 of Stratford, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine of Des Moines, and Excalibur Commandery No. 13, Knights Templar of Boone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 7 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Hollis Duecker of Cedar Rapids; 3 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 30, at 1:30 p.m. at the Calvary Methodist Church at Stratford, with the Rev. Ellis Andrews in charge. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted at the Memorial Park Cemetery at Fort Dodge.

Friends may call at the Hanson-Stark-Welin Chapel at Stratford, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, when the casket will be taken to the church.
