Violet (Duda) Blizman, 89, formerly of Lower Burrell died Saturday, May 28, 2005 in Sundale Nursing Center in Morgantown, W.Va., where she was a resident for little more than a year.
Born May 17, 1916, in Lower Burrell, she lived in Morgantown for the past few years.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Blizman was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, New Kensington, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers and also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, sewing and reading.
Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Blizman of Morgantown; granddaughter and spouse, Amy Quigley and Daniel Shrensky of Morgantown; a great-granddaughter, Victoria Shrensky of Morgantown; a sister, Gertrude Galecki of Saline, Mich.; and a brother, Joseph (Margaret) Duda of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Julia Serowski Duda; her husband of 37 years, Francis Blizman, who died in 1984; a grandson, Michael Quigley; and sisters, Martha Duda and Sophia Daylida.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 10 a.m. until prayers of transfer at 11:30 a.m. in the JOHN F. KRUPA FUNERAL HOME INC., 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at noon in St. Mary Catholic Church, New Kensington, by the Rev. Richard Karenbauer. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Lower Burrell.
