MARBLEHEAD - Arthur E. Ducharme, 71, of 26 Rowland St., died Thursday evening in Mary A. Alley Hospital. He was the husband of Jeannine (Caratis) Ducharme.
Born in Biddeford, Maine, son of the late Jeffrey and Flora (Levalle) Ducharme, he had been a resident of Marblehead for the past 35 years.
Mr. Ducharme was employed by the Town of Marblehead for 18 years in the school department as a custodian, his last school having been the Glover School.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He was a member of the Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Marblehead, a chaplain at the Lyman Rollins Post, V.F.W. of Marblehead, and a sports enthusiast.
Mr. Ducharme, in addition to his wife, is survived by two brothers, Raymond Ducharme of Northampton and Bertram Ducharme of Haverhill, four nephews, and one niece.
Funeral from the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home on Monday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church at 10:15 a.m.
