WHITE RIVER JCT. - Mary A. Bradley, 92, of Graystone Village/DeWitt Drive died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at the Alice Peck Day Nursing Home in Lebanon, N.H.

Born April 30, 1913, in Lowell, she was the daughter of Fred and Amelia (Recor) Ducharme and had attended schools in Montgomery Center and Fayston.

On Jan. 29, 1942, she married Glen Bradley in Barre. Most of their married life had been spent in Barre and following his retirement, they made their home in Middlesex. He died on Nov. 26, 1976. Since 1979, she had made her home in White River Junction to be closer to her daughter, Patricia Downing.

While living in Barre, she had worked at the Barre mica plant and the Rock of Ages capacitor plant. Upon her move to White River Junction, she continued working and performing volunteer work into her 80s.

She enjoyed driving until her late 80s and would be seen out often lunching with friends. She was the caretaker of her family, sacrificing her time and energy for the young and old alike. She was a fiercely proud and independent lady and maintained that independence until recently. She had been active in the United Hartford Church of Christ in Hartford, and was an avid daily reader of the Bible.

Survivors include her grandson, Craig A. Downing of Manchester, N.H.; her nephews, Milton Ducharme and his wife, Jean, of Ascutney, Robert Ducharme of Englewood, Fla., and Leon Goad of Windsor; and several grandnieces and nephews. All will miss her greatly.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Downing, and her grandson, Ronald Corliss.

A graveside service will be held in the Plain-Mont Cemetery in East Montpelier at a time to be announced in the spring.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Bugbee Senior Center, 262 North Main St., White River, Jct., VT 05001.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre.
