June M. Arthur, 85, of Shepherd, and former Sanford and Alpena resident, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at the Maplelane Senior Care Center in Shepherd.
She was born June 7, 1921, in Alpena, daughter of the late Napolean and Florence (Pierce) Ducharme. She attended schools in Alpena, spending much of her early life there. On Aug. 9, 1940, she married Edwin G. Arthur in Alpena. June always said her greatest achievement in life was her children. She enjoyed entertaining and hosting parties for church, family and friends in Alpena. She had been active in The Word of Life Baptist Church in Alpena. She and her husband Edwin moved to Sanford from Alpena in 1990 to be near their daughter. They currently were attending Our Redeemer Church. June was a woman who loved and was always willing to help her children and grandchildren in any way she could.
In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by two brothers.
Funeral and committal services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, from Our Redeemer Church, Pastor Mark Burks will officiate, with burial in Sanford Cemetery.
June's family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St., on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
