Daughter of Uldoric and Esther Beaudette Dubois. Married Joseph Zoel Courtois on June 17, 1879, St. Edouard de Gentilly, Nicolet, Providence Quebec, Canada.
She was baptised Marie Émilie Dubois on January 21st 1857 in Saint-Édouard-de-Gentilly parish church, born the same day. Daughter of Uldéric Dubois and Esther Beaudet.
On June 17th 1879, at the age of 22, she married Zoël Courtois in Saint-Édouard church. From this marriage eleven children were born: Eva 1880, Joseph Arthur 1882, Joseph 1884, Léonie 1885, Marie Corrine 1888, Joseph Ernest 1889, Joseph Eugène 1891, Maria 1893, Sara 1896, Marie Florida 1897, and Joseph Alfred in 1900.
In 1898, they left Gentilly and travelled to Maine, they lived in Biddeford Maine where her husband Zoël and the older children worked in the cotton mills.
Marie died on April 24th 1901, and was interred in Saint Joseph's Cemetery at the age of 44.
