Johnny lived with his siblings: Frances, Mary Al, Helen and Eddie at 25 Lombard Street, 928 Clinton Street and 888 Clinton Street, Buffalo, New York.
Johnny's sister Baby Mary died in 1918 of the Spanish Flu Epidemic and sister Helen died in 1946 from burns in a fire. Please visit their Memorial.
Johnny is a Veteran of World War II. He originally joined the United States Army September 21, 1932. His unit was Company D, 174th Infantry New York. He was Honorably Discharged September 20, 1935. Johnny joined the United States National Guard on October 14, 1938. Company D, 174 Infantry was activated September 16, 1940 and demobilization November 8, 1945. Johnny made a career of the United States Army obtaining the rank of Master Sargent. He served over 40 years in the United States Army and was very proud of it. No one knows what he did in the Army during World War II. He never spoke of it. He was very secretive of his activity during World War II.
Johnny met his wife, Birdie Collins during World War II on his way through New York City, New York. They were married and lived in an apartment above his parents house at 888 Clinton Street. They did not have any children.
Johnny died January 1975 of a heart attack in the elevator of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Building on Main Street, Buffalo, New York. Johnny went to the Blue Cross to take care of medical paperwork from his wife Bridie's illness and death in 1974.
Johnny had a Military Funeral.
